ZUNA — open-source EEG foundation model
Zyphra dropped ZUNA on Feb 18, 2026 — a 380M param open-source diffusion autoencoder (Apache 2.0) that reconstructs high-fidelity EEG from sparse/noisy data. It scales from cheap consumer headsets to 256-electrode research rigs. That means any of these devices punch above their weight class now. ZUNA can synthesize research-grade 8-channel signals from a single raw $10 sensor. That's the magical shift. We don't need expensive ADCs anymore; we have foundation models for noise. The $17 Junker rig and the $1k Ultracortex both feed the same mind now. That's the point.
